The 2023–24 revision includes a number of changes such as:
- A 2024 decision of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit discussing what types of nonmonetary sanctions are appealable
- Three Seventh Circuit opinions, issued in 2022 and 2023, addressing when an appeal can be expedited
- A 2023 Seventh Circuit opinion regarding the procedure under 28 U.S.C. § 2255 for individuals in federal custody to challenge the validity of a conviction or an imposed sentence, and four 2023 Seventh Circuit decisions illustrating when a federal prisoner can bring a petition under 28 U.S.C. § 2241 instead of 28 U.S.C. § 2255
