- In 2024, the U.S. Supreme Court issued an opinion about awards of damages for acts committed before the three-year lookback period
- The Wisconsin Supreme Court issued an order to create a new rule of appellate procedure concerning appeals in prejudgment competency proceedings under Wis. Stat. § 971.14
- The Wisconsin Court of Appeals decided in 2024 that the term arrest record is limited to criminal offenses and does not extend to civil offenses
- In 2023, the Wisconsin Court of Appeals considered whether Wis. Stat. § 425.102 barred a consumer from bringing an unconscionability claim in a consumer credit transaction case
- The Wisconsin Court of Appeals addressed the question of whether a lease was void and, if so, whether to apply Wisconsin Consumer Act remedies to refund all rent received by the landlord
- Numerous unemployment insurance cases were decided by Wisconsin’s Labor and Industry Review Commission in 2023, including topics relating to administrative concealment penalties, good cause for quitting, and fraudulent concealment
- The new Corporate Transparency Act is discussed
