Victor Forberger (Northeastern 1997) is a solo practitioner in Madison representing employees and employers in employment and labor law cases. Since the pandemic, he has been working almost entirely on unemployment cases and explaining the problems with the claim-filing process to countless others.

This program will outline:

  • Different unemployment programs connected to the pandemic (PUA, PEUC, MEUC, PUC, LWA)
  • How these programs intersect with regular unemployment benefits
  • Pandemic eligibility issues (able and available) with regular unemployment benefits
  • Eligibility issues (pandemic job loss, quarantine, pandemic illness, able and available) arising with PUA benefits
  • Employer tax/experience rating waivers
  • The unemployment phone hearing process and timing
  • Due process issues with notice and Department records
  • Over-payments, collections, and waivers
