Having the Right Attitude for the Future 2026

Product ID: CA3960R8
Presented By: State Bar of Wisconsin PINNACLE

Co-produced with the Senior Lawyers Division of the State Bar of Wisconsin

Legacy, not limbo

You don’t need a specific retirement date on the calendar to start thinking about what's next. Maybe you’ve considered taking fewer cases, handing off long-time clients, or stepping away from practice entirely, but you don’t want loose ends, awkward conversations, or a lost sense of self driving your decision. How can you choose a path that protects clients, honors the work you’ve done, and keeps you connected to the work, the people, and the profession?

Your discovery phase

Having the Right Attitude for the Future is built for experienced lawyers exploring their next steps. You’ll begin with an assessment of the three most common options: maintaining your current pace, transitioning to a smaller footprint, or gradually winding down your career.
