Jim Jesse has been an attorney for 25 years, consulting and practicing in the areas of intellectual property, licensing, and music law. He is the former general counsel for Cool Music Network (THECOOLTV), a 24-hour-a-day music video television network. As founder of Rock N’ Roll Law, Jim has been a full-time CLE presenter since 2013. He has taught music law to thousands of attorneys across the country.

Jim is a true “Paperback Writer” as the author of The Music Copyright Law Manual and The Musician’s Guide to Music Copyright Law. He is also a singer and songwriter and has released two albums: Down on the South Side and Better Late Than Never.

He graduated from the University of Kansas in 1983 with a B.S. in Business and a minor in Political Science, and he earned his J.D. in 1992 from the University of Missouri-Kansas City. He is admitted to practice and a member in good standing in Kansas.</p
