  • According to the FBI's 2023 Internet Crime Report, the FBI received reports of $12.5 Billion in losses in 2023 due to internet crime (up from $10.3 Billion in 2022)
  • 2023 reported losses in Wisconsin alone were $92,084,459 (down from $108,909,445 in 2022 but up from $51,816,862 in 2021).
  • Seller impersonation fraud/vacant land fraud, which started in full force in 2022, is one the fastest growing and prevalent internet crime frauds in 2024.
  • During this session Cheri will discuss this fraud, walk you through an actual seller impersonation fraud experienced (and STOPPED!) by her company Knight Barry Title, and then provide some best practices for attorneys, property owners, realtors, buyers, lenders, title companies and heck everyone involved in real estate in the United States.
