Product ID: CA3903R4
Presented By: State Bar of Wisconsin PINNACLE

Counsel for kids

When children and families enter Wisconsin’s juvenile court system, what transpires can shape a child’s potential and their future for years to come. Juvenile court practitioners must have a firm grasp of relevant substantive law and the compassion to address the deeply personal challenges that families and children face. Understanding the statutory frameworks of Chapters 48, covering Children in Need of Protection or Services (CHIPS), and 938, covering Juveniles in Need of Protection or Services (JIPS), is essential to ensure that children’s needs are met while protecting the rights of families.
