Dana J. Erlandsen has served as Chief Counsel for the Wisconsin Department of Revenue since 2005, serving under five different revenue secretaries. She supervises tax and collections attorneys and paralegals who handle income, franchise, sales, excise, real estate transfer, and property tax litigation and legal opinions, as well as a staff of resolution officers who work on intermediate internal appeals of income, sales, and excise tax. When not supervising or working on tax issues, she advises the Wisconsin Lottery, unclaimed property, and state alcohol regulation programs. Before coming to the department, she practiced with private firms in Madison, representing public and private sector clients in commercial and employment litigation. She graduated from the University of Wisconsin Law School with honors.
Denise M. Everson is the Director of the Audit Bureau for the Wisconsin Department of Revenue. She oversees audit activities for sales and use, income, franchise, pass-through, and excise taxes. Her previous roles at the department include field auditor, supervisor, and Sales and Use Tax section chief. Denise is a certified public accountant with an accounting degree from the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse and a master's in taxation from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee.
Rhonda K. Sankey is the supervisor of the Field Audit Resolution Unit. She manages a staff of six Resolution Officers located in various state offices. Her staff are involved in appeals of multiple tax types including but not limited to corporation, sales/use, pass-through, and excise taxes. Along with her background as an auditor, she was a supervisor in the Sales and Use Tax field audit section before becoming the resolution supervisor. Rhonda is a certified public accountant and received her accounting degree from the University of Wisconsin–Madison.
