Dr. Tara N. Richards is a Distinguished Associate Professor in the School of Criminology and Criminal Justice (SCCJ) at the University of Nebraska, Omaha, and Co-Director of SCCJ’s Victimology and Victim Studies Research Lab. Her research focuses on prevention, intervention, and system responses to sexual assault, intimate partner/domestic violence, and child abuse and neglect. Richards previously co-led two statewide evaluations of batterer intervention treatment programs (BIPs) in Colorado and Maryland, respectively, and is currently co-leading evaluations of BIPs in Baltimore and Seattle. Richards also serves on Nebraska’s working group for statewide BIP standards and Douglas County, Nebraska’s Domestic Violence Community Response Team and Sexual Assault Response Team.
