The 2018-2019 revision includes a number of changes such as:

  • Recent legislative reform relating to juvenile correctional facilities
  • Acts passed in 2018 as part of the “Foster Forward” legislative package designed to prevent the removal of children from their homes and to improve the child welfare system
  • New appellate decisions addressing matters such as juvenile court/adult court jurisdiction and waiver

The 2017-18 supplement added citations to recent juvenile law cases and incorporates recent legislative and rules development on topics such as:

  • The Indian Child Welfare Act (ICWA)
  • Newly expanded Mental Health Act provisions on emergency and involuntary commitment applying to drug-dependent individuals (including minors)
  • Community supervision programs, consolidating prior aftercare and corrective sanctions programs in the Wisconsin Statutes
  • Competency issues in delinquency cases
