The 2023-2024 supplement includes a number of changes such as:
- Opinions issued in 2023 in which the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit, the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Wisconsin, and the Wisconsin Court of Appeals decided when property qualifies as residence premises
- 2023 Seventh Circuit opinions regarding who is considered an insurer for purposes of determining when the duty of good faith arises under an insurance policy
- 2023 Eastern District of Wisconsin opinions addressing appraisal clauses, the broad evidence rule, and calculation of actual cash value
- A 2023 opinion in which the Wisconsin Supreme Court considered accidental property damage occurrence issues, loss of use of property, loss of profits, and other property coverage and whether breach of contract can be a covered occurrence
- Expanded discussions of the occupancy requirement and the risks of vacant or unoccupied property and of a series of Wisconsin cases applying economic loss doctrine concepts to insurance coverage questions
The 2022-2023 revision includes a number of changes such as:
- Further examination of prejudice and late notice concepts, the interplay between the duty to defend and the duty to indemnify, the effect of ambiguity on insurance policy interpretation, and when coverage is triggered
- A 2021 Eastern District of Wisconsin case explained what constitutes “negligent operation” under Wis. Stat. § 194.41
- A 2022 Wisconsin Supreme Court case addressed whether the underinsured motorist statute permits insurers to limit recovery by derivative claimants
- In a 2023 decision, the Wisconsin Supreme Court discussed the resident relative exclusion, the intentional acts exclusion, and issue preclusion
- Insurance coverage for COVID-19 closures is discussed
- In a 2022 decision, the Eastern District of Wisconsin decided whether to bifurcate breach of contract and bad faith claims and whether to stay discovery on the bad faith claim until after resolution of the breach of contract claim
