The 2022-2023 revision includes a number of changes such as:
- The legislature's creation of a procedure to allow for the nonprobate transfer of farming implements to a designated beneficiary upon the owner’s death
- Legislative amendments that require proposed guardians to receive training on specified topics before the final hearing for a guardianship of the person or a person’s estate, starting with guardianship petitions filed on January 1, 2023, unless an exemption applies
- New discussions of recent appellate court decisions involving involuntary mental commitments (including recommitment proceedings)
- A Wisconsin Supreme Court order, effective July 1, 2022, that provides statutory authority for holding court proceedings from remote locations outside the courthouse, using telephonic or videoconferencing technology
