Peter Harbach is a partner at Hooper Law Office, LLC and the former president of the Wisconsin Council of Estate Planning Attorneys. Peter teaches nationally on elder law topics including Medicaid’s expanded estate recovery laws and Veteran Pension benefit planning. He is a member of WealthCounsel, ElderCounsel, the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys (NAELA), the Wisconsin Council of Estate Planning Attorneys, the Elder Law and Special Needs Section of the State Bar of Wisconsin and is accredited by the Department of Veterans Affairs.

Peter earned his undergraduate degree in criminology and law studies from Marquette University as a St. Ignatius Academic Scholarship recipient. He then attended Marquette University Law School, focusing his course of study in estate planning and family law.

 

Sarah J. Kons is a partner at Hooper Law Office, LLC. She grew up in the Fox Valley and returned after completing her education to build her practice and serve her community through education and comprehensive planning. Sarah focuses on estate planning, elder law, assisting families in planning for loved ones with disabilities, and business planning, including entity formation, exit strategies, and succession planning, with a special emphasis on the evolution of the family farm.

After attending the University of Wisconsin Oshkosh for her undergraduate degree, she then went to Marquette University Law School and earned her Juris Doctor degree. Sarah believes strongly in the benefits of education and teaches on both a local and national level. She presents to a wide variety of audiences, including the general public, financial advisors, insurance agents, attorneys, and other professionals. She has also written numerous articles and several books on the topics of estate planning, elder law, special needs planning, and transitioning family-owned businesses.

Sarah is a member of the National Steering Committee on Special Needs through the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys (NAELA), and a past president of the Wisconsin Council of Estate Planning Attorneys. She is a member of WealthCounsel, ElderCounsel, NAELA, Protected Tomorrows, WINAELA (Wisconsin Chapter), and the Elder Law Section of the State Bar of Wisconsin. Sarah is also accredited with the Department of Veterans Affairs.
