The 2022–23 revision includes a number of changes such as:

  • Amendments to portions of SCR 20:1.15 governing client trust accounts and electronic transactions that will become effective on July 1, 2023
  • Chapter 14F (formerly Mediation, now Mediation and Arbitration) has been rewritten and now includes information about various forms of mediation, details about arbitration and hybrid mediation-arbitration, and two new forms
  • A 2022 Wisconsin Court of Appeals opinion discussing when a party who committed battery or abuse “has successfully completed treatment for batterers provided through a certified treatment program or by a certified treatment provider” under Wis. Stat. § 767.41(2)(d) for purposes of rebutting the presumption against the abuser being awarded any legal custody
  • Electronic filing is scheduled to become mandatory in the Wisconsin Supreme Court on July 1, 2023

Various sections of the book have been reorganized and revised, and the forms have been reviewed and updated as needed to incorporate gender-neutral language, legal updates, and clarifications.
