- Numerous executive orders with employment-law impacts were issued in 2025, and multiple lawsuits were filed challenging several of the 2025 executive orders
- The U.S. Supreme Court issued a 2025 opinion discussing establishing a prima facie case in a reverse-discrimination claim under Title VII and identifying the burden of proof applicable to plaintiffs in such cases
- LIRC discussed, in 2025, whether a discrimination claim can be analyzed as “perceived” conviction-record discrimination, when complainants are entitled to back pay, and which efforts qualify as viable methods for mitigating damages
- In 2025, LIRC decided when dismissal of a complaint for failure to comply with discovery constitutes error
