- The 2025 Senator Dole 21st Century Veterans Healthcare and Benefits Improvement Act amended the Uniformed Services Employment and Reemployment Rights Act
- The U.S. Supreme Court issued opinions analyzing establishing a prima facie case in a reverse-discrimination claim under Title VII; the Wisconsin Supreme Court’s application of a religious exemption and the state’s interest in ensuring unemployment coverage for residents; and a state ban on gender-affirming medical care for transgender minors
- Transfer of all worker’s compensation adjudicatory functions and staff from the Wisconsin Department of Administration to the Wisconsin Department of Workforce Development
- Wis. Stat. chapter 102 (Worker’s Compensation) was substantially revised
- The Seventh Circuit considered whether a public employee can be lawfully terminated for social media posts if the posts are disruptive to the work environment
- The Eastern and Western Districts of Wisconsin and the Seventh Circuit Court of Appeals decided cases involving constructive discharge claims
- Numerous executive orders with employment-law impacts were issued, and challenged, in 2025
- Dollar amounts pertaining to qualified retirement plans and other retirement plans were updated

- A 2024 decision from the Eastern District of Wisconsin regarding accommodation of an employee’s leave request under the Pregnant Workers Fairness Act
- The Wisconsin Supreme Court’s 2025 opinion pertaining to the term “arrest record”
- The U.S. District Court for the Western District of Wisconsin’s 2024 finding regarding whether a Social Security Disability Insurance eligibility ban in the Wisconsin statutes illegally discriminates against disabled workers
- A 2025 U.S. Supreme Court opinion analyzing whether changes in terms and conditions of employment were sufficient to establish a discrimination claim under Title VII
- A 2025 Wisconsin Court of Appeals decision on whether disgorgement of a former employee’s profits could be an appropriate remedy for tortious interference with a noncompete agreement
