The 2025–26 supplement includes a number of changes such as:
- New references to recent appellate decisions addressing matters such as search-and-seizure, involuntary medication orders, joinder, reverse waiver (of juveniles), confessions, expert witnesses, jury instructions, commitments of individuals found not guilty by reason of mental disease or defect, mistrial, sentencing, and traffic offenses
- Amended statutory citations and cross-references reflecting the Wisconsin Legislature’s enactment of legislation that recodified the battery statutes and legislation that created a new sexual extortion statute
- Modified discussion of procedures for handling sensitive questions during jury selection
- Updated poverty guidelines for use in indigency determinations
The 2024-25 revision includes a number of changes such as:
- Reorganized and revised sections on evolving topics such as competency and the right to a speedy trial, updated to reflect recent case law
- Discussions of new appellate decisions on topics such as search-and-seizure, the right to counsel, bail, substitution of judge, double jeopardy, lineup identification evidence, confessions, hearsay, DNA evidence, sentencing, juveniles in adult court, and implied consent in traffic cases
- Citations to recently enacted statutes relating to preserving the testimony of crime victims and witnesses who are 60 years old or older and expediting criminal proceedings in cases that involve such individuals
- New references to statutory provisions with recently modified procedures for disclosing location information of wireless communications devices in emergencies
- A revised discussion of sex-offender registration requirements, amended by recent legislation
- Updated poverty guidelines for use in indigency determinations
