The Transit Mutual Insurance Board of Directors is seeking a dynamic individual qualified to lead the Transit Mutual Insurance Corporation of Wisconsin (TMi). The corporation insures automobile liability and automobile physical damage for member Wisconsin Municipal transit systems and is fully regulated by the State of Wisconsin Office of the Commissioner of Insurance. Senior Attorney – SSM Health Care
The Senior Attorney is responsible for assisting the General Counsel of Wisconsin in overseeing and managing legal affairs for the assigned SSM Health Care (SSMHC) region and its operating entities under the direction of the General Counsel of Wisconsin. Preferred skills: 1) experience in a higher education, judicial, law enforcement, or regulatory compliance setting, 2) knowledge of sex discrimination grievance procedures in a University setting.<br /><br />Principal duties: <br />Coordinate Institutional Compliance with Title IX: <br />- Coordinate compliance with UW-System and UW-Madison's Title IX policies and procedures. <br />- Develop and coordinate the implementation of Title IX procedures, professional development and training, and related resources. <br />- Maintain proficiency with Title IX and VAWA regulations and new legal developments regarding sexual harassment, sexual assault, dating and domestic violence, stalking, and related topics applicable to UW-Madison. <br />- Collaborate with campus central administrative offices, campus colleges, schools, and divisions, and other administrative units to ensure compliance with Title IX requirements. <br />- Collaborate and coordinate with the UW-Madison Police Department Clery Compliance Director and Assistant Director regarding VAWA-related policies, procedures and compliance requirements. <br />- Assist in the selection of Deputy Title IX Coordinators and coordinate their professional development and training. <br />- Additional responsibilities and duties may be assigned to comply with changes in law, policies, and regulations. <br />Coordinate Complaint Investigation and Grievance Procedure Compliance with Title IX: <br />- Provide consultation and oversight to the investigation and resolution of complaints filed by students, staff and faculty that involve an allegation(s) of sex discrimination, sexual harassment, sexual assault, dating violence, domestic violence, or stalking. <br />- Serve as lead complaint investigator for investigations of matters involving an allegation(s) of sex discrimination, sexual harassment, sexual assault, dating violence, domestic violence, or stalking that involve student respondents. Supervise secondary complaint investigators, as needed. <br />- Address and respond to questions from faculty, staff, and students regarding UW-Madison's grievance procedures for addressing allegations of sex discrimination, sexual harassment, sexual assault, dating violence, domestic violence, or stalking. <br />- Maintain contemporary knowledge of UW-Madison's sex discrimination, sexual harassment and sexual violence policies and procedures as well as those established by UW System. <br />- Solicit input and feedback to ensure the effectiveness of UW-Madison's Title IX policies and procedures.<br />- Review all campus complaint and grievance procedures addressing complaint allegations of discrimination on the basis of sex, including sexual harassment, sexual assault, dating violence, domestic violence, or stalking, to ensure that these comply with the requirements of Title IX. <br />- Coordinate and collaborate with UW-Madison Police Department and with the Dane County District Attorney's Office. <br />Provide Public Information and Coordinate Professional Development and Training for Faculty, Staff and Students: <br />- Regularly develop and participate in activities designed to raise awareness in the campus community about sex discrimination, sexual harassment, and sexual violence. <br />- Review and revise notices of nondiscrimination published in announcements, bulletins, catalogs, and application forms made available to or used to recruit students, faculty, and staff. <br />- Coordinate, present, and provide oversight for the development and implementation of in-person and on-line, professional development and training for all UW-Madison faculty and staff likely to witness or receive reports of sex discrimination, sexual harassment and sexual violence and to any employees with Title IX compliance, investigation, and implementation responsibilities. This includes training and professional development for the Deputy Title IX Coordinators and designated Title IX "Responsible Employees."<br />- Collaborate with colleges, schools and divisions and central campus offices, and provide oversight for the development and implementation of campus-wide informational sessions for students that comply with Title IX requirements. <br />- Identify, evaluate, and address systemic sex discrimination issues or patterns. <br />- Annually review all non-confidential formal and informal complaints of discrimination on the basis of sex, including sexual harassment, sexual assault, dating violence, domestic violence, or stalking, received by the University and identify any patterns or systemic problems. Take/recommend appropriate action to address patterns or problems identified. <br />- Conduct periodic audits to assess the effectiveness of steps taken to mitigate risk and ensure that the campus is free of sex discrimination, sexual harassment and sexual violence. Inform the Chancellor, Provost, Vice Provost for Student Life and Dean of Students, Director of Compliance and other campus administrators, as appropriate, of the information gathered through these audits and recommend improvements, as needed.<br />Membership on Committees, Work Groups and Task Forces: <br />- Serve as one of two UW-Madison representatives on the UW-System Task Force on Sexual Violence.<br />- Represent the Office of Compliance (OC) on the UW-Madison Title IX Consultation Group and the Title IX Work Group. <br />- Serve on the UW-Madison Clery Act Working Committee. <br />- Serve as co-chair of the End Violence on Campus, (EVOC) Coordinating Council. <br />-Serve as co-chair of the Provost’s Advisory Group on Sexual Assault and Misconduct.<br />Other duties as assigned:<br />-Participate in the development and promotion of the Office of Compliance as a new campus resource supporting broad compliance activities.<br />-Supervise student staff and interns placed in the Title IX program of the Office of Compliance, as appropriate.<br /><br />Additional Information:<br /><br />The University of Wisconsin-Madison, established in 1848 and considered one of the world's outstanding public research universities, invites applications and nominations for the position of Campus Title IX Coordinator, (official title: Special Assistant).
